About The Role
Assists the Section Head in managing the alerts generated by the bank’s AML transaction monitoring systems. Responsibilities: Reviews transactions of customers that are subject of alerts. Analyzes, investigates and identifies all suspicious transactions. Refers transactions to the concerned branch/business unit/Relationship Officer for additional information and/or documents to aid in the disposition process, if necessary. Prepares the Investigation Report if transaction(s) was considered to be suspicious, and routes it to the Money Laundering Evaluation Committee (MLEC) for decision as to filing of Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) and corresponding risk classification in the AML Private List. Prepares the necessary STR, based on MLEC decision, for transmission to Anti-Money Laundering Council. Routes the request for approval to include customer in the AML Private List, based on MLEC decision. Promptly informs the managing branch/business unit of the MLEC-approved AML classification, i.e. HBL or HTXN, for account closure or enhanced due diligence. Monitors the action taken by branch/business unit to ensure the proper implementation of MLEC decisions, such as closure of account and tagging of accounts particularly if HBL. Ensures that justification on decisions made on all AML alerts, i.e. close or report, are adequately recorded and/or supported with copies of necessary documents and safekept for future reference. Maintains and safekeeps all documentation, records and communications in relation to analysis, investigation and resolution of AML alerts. Acts as subject matter expert or consultant on AML-related matters. Updates oneself on any AML-related matters through trainings. Handles additional/new assignment that may be given by the AML Management from time to time. Qualifications: Graduate of Business, Banking and Finance, Management, Law or other related course At least 2 years work experience in AML function or banking operations or internal audit. Understanding of relevant laws and regulations and their potential impact on the Bank’s operations/services and the principles/framework of bank compliance
