Wood has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Reporting Manager to join the Group Finance Function on a permanent basis. The Senior Reporting Manager will own the delivery of the Group consolidation and the Group’s external reporting.

This role is open to candidates based in the UK, with flexible and remote working arrangements available.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting and Consolidation, the Senior Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the Group's monthly and year-end consolidation processes, delivering insightful analysis of financial performance, and coordinating the production of the Annual Report. You will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Group reporting, working closely with Regional Controllers, the Financial Systems team, and other key stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.

As a key member of the Group Reporting function, you will act as the primary day-to-day contact for external auditors on Group reporting matters and collaborate with teams including Treasury, Tax, Legal, Company Secretarial, and Accounting Policy. The role carries accountability for the delivery of high-quality external financial reporting and requires strong judgement in applying Group accounting policies, managing reporting timetables, and prioritising team resources, while escalating technical accounting and regulatory matters as appropriate.

  • Delivering the Group consolidation for month-end and year-end, including review of BU submissions, intercompany elimination, and preparation of the consolidated primary statements
  • Preparing analytical review of the Group position on a monthly basis
  • Preparing the Group Annual Report, including all notes and disclosures, and managing the production timetable
  • Acting as the day-to-day contact for the external auditors on Group reporting, coordinating audit requests, resolving queries, and tracking audit findings through to closure
  • Monitoring business unit reporting submissions for completeness, accuracy and compliance with Group Accounting Policies, escalating issues and working with BU and Regional Controllers to resolve them
  • Preparing Group disclosures on foreign exchange exposures, hedging and bank covenant compliance in conjunction with the Treasury team
  • Leading, developing and managing the performance of the Group Reporting Manager and the Group Reporting Accountant, including workload planning across the reporting cycle
  • Maintaining and improving the Group reporting timetable, review controls and supporting documentation, and evidencing the operation of reporting controls
  • Working with the Financial Systems and Data Governance team on the consolidation system, including user acceptance testing, data validation and reporting requirements for the OneStream implementation
  • Reviewing technical accounting judgements, new IFRS requirements and major transaction accounting together with Technical Accounting lead, and applying appropriate accounting guidance in Group reporting
  • Supporting the Head of Reporting and Consolidation on ad hoc reporting projects and information requests

Expected

  • Degree qualified
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA or CPA)
  • Post-qualification experience in group reporting or consolidation, gained in a large multinational group
  • Demonstrable experience of preparing consolidated financial statements and an Annual Report under IFRS
  • Working knowledge of a consolidation system such as Oracle FCCS, OneStream, HFM or SAP BPC, and confidence working with large reporting data sets
  • Sound technical accounting knowledge, with the judgement to identify where an issue needs to be escalated for specialist input
  • Experience of coordinating with external auditors through an annual audit cycle
  • Experience of working across an international group, with cultural awareness and sensitivity when dealing with business units in different jurisdictions
  • Experience of line managing or supervising a small team, including workload planning and development
  • A track record of delivering to a fixed external reporting timetable while maintaining quality
  • Ability to influence and challenge business unit finance teams constructively through clear, evidenced argument
  • Experience of improving reporting processes and controls, and of implementing changes that hold
