Purpose

The People Operations Coordinator supports key human resources and employee lifecycle initiatives by providing administrative, project, and operational assistance to the People Operations team. This role offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, compensation, compliance, credentialing, and HR project coordination while contributing to an employee-centered workplace.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, maintaining applicant tracking records, and supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, including preparing onboarding materials, tracking completion of required documentation, and ensuring a positive new hire experience.
  • Provide administrative and research support for compensation-related project , including data collection, benchmarking activities, and maintaining compensation records.
  • Support auditing and licensing processes by reviewing documentation, tracking requirements, organizing records, and assisting with compliance reporting.
  • Assist with credentialing and training program administration by maintaining employee certifications, monitoring renewal dates, and supporting training record management.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and databases related to People Operations initiatives.
  • Participate in special HR projects and process improvement efforts as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and organizational information and adhere to all applicable privacy standards.

General qualifications

  • Interest in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Previous administrative, customer service, or office experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with data entry, reporting, or project coordination is a plus.

Candidates will participate in an interview via Microsoft Teams or in person if available. Work schedules will be developed around the student's academic commitments, with hours generally available Monday through Friday. Performance evaluations will be conducted by the supervisor on a regular basis through ongoing feedback, review of assigned work, reliability, professionalism, and achievement of established responsibilities and project goals.

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
