Job Purpose
Massage Therapists are responsible for providing exceptional, appropriate and professional massage services for guests and members. The therapist role is to ensure that the level of service provided to the guest is highly individualized and that each guest feels that their comfort and convenience are the principal concerns of the Gasparilla Inn & Club. Therapists must possess clear and respectful communication skills and be willing to learn product and service knowledge to provide wellness and appropriate solutions while identifying and meeting the needs of guests through customer service. Therapists must maintain professionalism and respect with all clientele and personnel involved within our establishment. It is necessary to be educated with a thorough knowledge of the body and demonstrate the appropriate massage techniques accordingly as well as maintain good hygiene and sanitation practices that apply.
Therapists must maintain a valid massage therapy license through the State of Florida, a valid form of U.S. government identification and an Insurance Liability Certificate naming the Gasparilla Inn & Club Spa as additionally insured while in the establishment.
Job Duties

- Provide consistency in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
- Actively promote the spa, treatments and services, as well is other available programs and promotions available.
- Attend, participate and support training and staff informational meetings allowing for complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products.
- Arrive timely for preparation of services to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Obtain pertinent health history data and medical considerations to confirm and provide safe and appropriate treatment protocols.
- Perform services within the scheduled, allotted time frame.
- Offer flexibility and availability with schedule supporting the needs of service.
- Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
- Provide educated, accurate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
- Remain professional in communication at all times supporting the good will of the Gasparilla Inn & Club.
- Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as stated by law and spa policies and procedures.
- Properly care and maintain equipment and usage areas.
- Use designated quantities stated for body treatment protocols to assist with cost of goods sold and profitability.
- Perform prep work and properly clean and restock necessary supplies in rooms.
- Maintain safety standards at all times.
- Demonstrate ability to perform without direct supervision and trustworthiness.
- Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management as needs develop.
- Complete Massage Therapist Skill & Procedure Check List.
- Communicate any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention to management.
- Report maintenance issues to Manager or Spa Receptionist on duty.
- Ability to understand guest inquiries and provide appropriate responses.
- Ability to focus on guests’ needs, remaining calm and courteous in all situations.
- Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
- Ability to work well under pressure within any given period of time.
- Ability to focus on details.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all guests and hotel information.
- Ability to ensure security of guest room access.

Qualifications

Florida Licensed Massage Therapist
Preferred
- 3 years previous experience of practical massage therapy
- Knowledge of muscles, central nervous system, contradictions, etc.
