About The Role

This role shall assist in group consolidation and preparation of consolidated financial statements at half year end / year end and manage external audit in a timely, proactive manner. Assist in the preparation of the JGAAP and USGAAP reporting. Identify system and process improvement opportunities. Dealing with stakeholders and senior management during the India/UK/Australia time zone to ensure transactions are processed and reports are produced with maximum efficiency and minimum risk.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

Strategic Focus

  • Support the Group Finance team in the timely preparation of Group Financial statements and ensure completeness in all aspects.
  • Look at ways to improve the efficiency of the processes.
  • Support monthly results and provide valuable analysis and insights.

Operational Management

  • Assisting in preparation of the Group consolidated financial statements half year end/year end.
  • Assisting in preparation of statutory financial statement for subsidiaries.
  • Liaising with the external Auditors for the group and subsidiaries.
  • Process all monthly consolidation adjustments including elimination of inter-company transactions and group month end journals.
  • Review and monitor the intercompany balances and ensure it is eliminated on consolidation.
  • Assist in review of complex transactions and prepare related journal entries, including but not limited to acquisitions, disposals and refinancing.
  • Preparation of relevant technical papers to the Board.
  • Preparation of key monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of daily and monthly cash flow reporting.
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports and papers for the board and senior management.
  • Any other task as needed for business reporting.
  • Contribute to the broader financial control of MUFG (i.e. JSOX and reconciliations).

  • Achievement of business objectives and the maintenance of ongoing regulatory compliance.

Experience & Personal Attributes

Experience

  • Overall 5 to 8 years’ experience with Minimum 5 years in accounting.
  • Professional Accounting qualifications (preferably CA).
  • An understanding of international accounting standards and principles.
  • Solid technical background, including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of key accounting end-to-end processes.
  • Background in Chartered Audit.
  • Handson experience working on Advanced Excel.
  • Experience working on ERP systems would be highly regarded.
