Technical Program Manager – Data Destruction

The Technical Program Manager – Data Destruction executes strategic initiatives for the Data Destruction program within the BBH Systems Data Protection team. The Program Manager works with stakeholders across the organization to monitor and enforce compliance with data retention and destruction policies and standards, applying technical expertise to identify gaps and opportunities.

The Program Manager manages operational tasks of the Data Destruction team in support of the program, including enforcement of data destruction controls and policies, firm-wide user support, and periodic management reporting of status and KPIs.

Main areas of responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Program Management

  • Understand program goals and work with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities to improve data retention and destruction practices
  • Identify and implement technical solutions to improve the execution and tracking of data destruction activities across the organization
  • Define KPIs and KRIs for the program; provide program status reporting and analysis to senior leadership
  • Ensure that all participants and stakeholders understand the objectives of the program and work together to drive program success

Program/Project Execution & Delivery

  • Drive execution of large, complex projects in support of the Data Destruction program, from requirements to production
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies and overall critical path to ensure project delivery meets strategic program goals
  • Adhere to strong project management and project execution standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage operational tasks of the Data Destruction team in support of the program, including enforcement of data destruction controls and policies, firm-wide user support, and periodic management reporting

Leadership & People Management

  • Manage a team of business analysts in the execution of projects and tasks to support the program
  • Set project priorities, provide overall direction and guidance to assigned project team and coordinate schedules and other related project activities
  • Communicate consistently with stakeholders to clarify goals and strategy and report program status; prepare program updates for executive oversight committees

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

  • 7-12+ years of experience in data protection, governance and risk management
  • Technical experience in database design and systemic data destruction principles and tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management principles, tools and techniques
  • Experience with MS Office applications including: Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience managing individuals and teams
  • Experience in change management

  • Strong, effective interpersonal and negotiation skills and is able to communicate effectively with division executives, clients, and other external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills; know your audience
  • Ability to learn, adapt, and apply new concepts and technologies
  • Demonstrated understanding in areas of application programming, database and system design

Salary Range

$140,000-$185,000 base salary + annual target bonus

The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
