The HP Credit and Collections organization has a dynamic leadership opportunity for an Americas Channels A/R Engagement Specialist to join our outstanding organization. The ideal candidate will bring a lot of passion and energy into the role and will have advanced skills in all forms of communication, diagnosing problems and determining the best way to resolve, working proactively to eliminate or reduce habitual problems from reoccurring and working across multiple organizations simultaneously to achieve desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose disputes that impact the organization and determine an “A to Z” approach to why the disputes occur and how to resolve
- Communicates with internal and external customers at senior levels to discuss and resolve concerns and issues
- Leads meetings with key stakeholders across multiple organizations to align all aspects of the issue being deliberated
- Trusted advisor to Collection Managers and Collectors through close collaboration in order to understand all issues/concerns that are important to their performance
- Tracks and reports current IT issues negatively impacting the team as well as automation and robotic opportunities that can accelerate performance and remove mundane work
- Performs key tasks as needed from Director and Collection Managers such as customer account reviews, interviewing potential C&C candidates, meeting engagement, coverage during absences, etc.
- Leads projects to drive improvements, increase knowledge base and expand network
- Ensures that the team is using the appropriate collections systems and processes at the expected level and provides guidance and coaching to team members when necessary
- Craft policies and procedures where needed
- Creates presentations and reporting on an ad hoc basis
- Maintains compliance by understanding and adhering to the established policies and procedures of the department and corporation
Education and Experience Required
- First level university degree with a focus in business or economics recommended or the equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in a credit and collections environment or an equivalent environment
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Solid accounting knowledge
- Self-starter with exceptional follow-up skills
- Basic understanding of risk mitigation tools
- Understanding of collection processes and financial concepts
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Solid computer skills with an advanced understanding of Excel
- Understanding of HighRadius and SAP a plus
- Automation and robotics skills a plus
