Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Trade Relationship Coordinator to support the successful delivery of our Te Mahi Ngatahi contract and planned maintenance programmes. Working closely with operational leaders, subcontractors, and Kainga Ora, you will help ensure sufficient trade capacity, strong contractor relationships, and the efficient delivery of maintenance services that improve homes and communities across New Zealand.

Reporting directly to the Trade Relationship Manager , you will collaborate with both client and BGIS teams to support subcontractor engagement, compliance, scheduling, and performance outcomes, helping drive a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and customer-focused, with excellent relationship-building skills and a passion for supporting operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the onboarding, engagement, and ongoing management of subcontractors and trade partners.
  • Assist in maintaining a well-resourced subcontractor network to meet programme and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate trade resource availability and support scheduling activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, Kainga Ora, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance documentation, certifications, and health and safety requirements.
  • Support subcontractor training on BGIS systems and technology platforms.
  • Assist with KPI reporting, data tracking, and operational performance insights.
  • Contribute to stakeholder communications, newsletters, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education, Experience & Skills Essential

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an administration, coordination, or similar support role.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience engaging with external stakeholders, suppliers, or contractors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across operational and administrative teams.

Desirable

  • Experience within facilities management, maintenance, construction, or trade-related industries.
  • Knowledge of subcontractor management and contractor engagement processes.
  • Understanding of health and safety compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience supporting operational or project delivery teams.
  • Experience working with social housing, government, or community-focused contracts.

Workplace Flexibility
