Civil Engineer, Utilities

About The Role
- Responsible for the Utilities Engineering design requirements of the project.
- Coordinate efforts between services and disciplines and work closely with the Project Team Lead or Project Manager.
- Develop, design and coordinate the Combined Services Route (CSR) for road and rail projects.
- Be able to transfer services information from services providers and Dial Before you Dig drawings
- Be able to design draw pits and minimum bend radius for conduits
- Develop quality design documentation under the direction/review of a senior/principal civil engineer or designer.
- Accountable for projects assigned including planning, analysis, design and production of the engineering drawings.
- Adheres to prescribed Design Standards and Design Quality Procedures.
- Conscientiously work towards the group’s objectives and adhere to the company’s policy.
- Working knowledge on Digital Engineering, Net Zero, and BIM project delivery.
- Perform tasks assigned by Discipline Lead/Transport Team Manager/Regional Team Executive in line with his experience, discipline and qualifications.
- Ability to assist and support any Transport Digital Engineering Pillars.
- Excellent time management skills (prioritizing and follow-up).
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum, and managing to project due dates.
- Basic project management skills with the ability to assist project leads manage projects simultaneously
and meet deadlines.
- Keeps abreast of new developments and methods relevant to area of expertise.
- BS in Civil Engineering Degree
- At least 2-3 years relevant work experience.
- Experience of geometric design of utilities using Civil 3D, 12D, Open Roads, Dynamo, Open Rail, ProjectWise or similar software packages.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is also desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant industry related Australian Standards, local Road Authority Standards and utility providers standards.
- Understanding of related safety in design practices and processes with emphasis on road safety outcomes
- Consultative and collaborative manner.
- Innovative and solutions focused.
- Quality and technical excellence with delivery to timelines and cost.
- Attention to detail and understands necessity for clarity of documentation.
