ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an early founding engineer position at a veterinary healthtech startup, working directly with the CTO to build a practice management platform from the ground up. You'll have genuine ownership over the architecture and features that land in real veterinary practices — your decisions will shape the product from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build full-stack features across a TypeScript/Express backend, React frontend, and PostgreSQL database.
Own entire feature areas end-to-end, from initial conception through production deployment.
Translate user feedback directly into code and see your work used in live clinical environments.
Make early architectural decisions that set the foundation for a scalable system.
Integrate with practice management systems and third-party services.
Balance product thinking with engineering execution — asking why before building.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

2–6 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping web applications.
Strong proficiency across the full stack: TypeScript, Express, React, and PostgreSQL.
Experience making architectural decisions for production systems, including API design and database design.
A product-first mindset — you engage with user needs, not just technical specs.
Genuine ownership and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.
Background in B2B SaaS or vertical software; healthtech or clinical software experience is a plus.
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent demonstrated competency through shipped work.
Comfort using AI tools to sharpen your own development workflow and productivity.
