ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join world-class experts in finding answers to our customers' most challenging questions as a Calibration Specialist. Ocean Optics makes world-class spectroscopic systems that are involved in solving some of the world's biggest problems. We have an opportunity for a Calibration Specialist in our Ostfildern office. In this role, you will work with the Ocean Optics engineering and customer support team, helping define the next-generation spectroscopic systems and enhance customers’ experience for Ocean Optics.

As a Calibration Specialist you will

  • Align, calibrate and test optical test equipment accurately and according to procedure .
  • Record data gathered during calibration .
  • Identify significant deviation in test results and trends .
  • Maintain equipment and work environment in accordance to procedure .
  • Interact with other technicians, customer service representatives and customers .
  • Follow and maintain ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards and bring up any issues that may interfere with the standards .
  • Apply the principal 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the performance of daily work responsibilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work area .
  • Maintains customer confidentiality at all times .
  • Other duties as assigned .

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

Our ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience and should be

  • B.S. Degree in electronics or other technical discipline or appropriate experience .
  • A strong background in mathematics, physics and engineering .
  • Knowledge of photodetectors, detector systems and fiber optics .
  • Must possess good English written and oral communication skills .
  • Must have basic computer skills .
  • Experience with inspection, measurement and test equipment .
  • 5+ years of working experience in calibration and metrology
  • A good work ethic and willingness to learn and success .

EMPLOYMENT TERMS AND COMPENSATION

This is a full-time, onsite, fix-term contract position in our Osfildern office. The base salary range for this position is 65,000 - 70,000 EUR. This role is also eligible for a variable compensation plan, with On-Target Earnings (OTE) of 74,000 EUR when company performance goals are achieved. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and work location, in accordance with the applicable law.
