About The Role

As a Senior Corporate Counsel and Team Leader at TAL, you'll play a key role in helping customers navigate complex disputes and litigation matters with fairness, care and confidence. Partnering across the business, you'll guide strategic decision making, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and support the growth of a high-performing team. By combining deep expertise with a customer-first mindset, you'll help deliver trusted outcomes that protect what matters most to Australians, while bringing TAL's purpose and values to life every day. In This Role You Will: Lead and develop a high-performing team that delivers trusted legal and dispute resolution outcomes. Provide expert legal advice to support sound decision making on complex claims, disputes and emerging risks. Shape dispute resolution strategies that achieve fair, commercially balanced and customer-focused outcomes. Influence business outcomes through proactive engagement with senior stakeholders on material legal and regulatory matters. Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing to strengthen capability, consistency and compliance. Partner across TAL to deliver strategic priorities, enable change and enhance customer experience. Champion consistent, high-quality dispute resolution practices that strengthen customer trust and regulatory confidence.

Admitted legal practitioner with a minimum of 8 years' post qualification experience Strong understanding of insurance law, life insurance legislation and dispute resolution frameworks Experience managing complex matters with courts, tribunals and external dispute resolution bodies Exceptional written, verbal communication and legal drafting skills Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels Collaborative approach with a strong commitment to teamwork and shared success Experience leading or developing people, with a passion for coaching and supporting growth
