Requirements

Mission of the role

To champion a culture of compliance and risk awareness across Sleek, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards globally while driving continuous improvement in our technology and processes.

Key outcomes in the first 6–12 months

Outcome 1: Know Your Customer (KYC)

  • Review individual KYC exceptions and complete identification/verification within agreed SLAs.
  • Complete corporate shareholder KYC reviews accurately and within agreed SLAs.
  • Ensure all KYC decisions and supporting documentation are complete and appropriately recorded.

Outcome 2: Client Risk Assessment

  • Independently approve low- and medium-risk client cases within SLA.
  • Assess higher-risk cases and provide clear recommendations to the Head of Compliance within SLA.
  • Apply sound judgement and a consistent, risk-based approach when assessing client risk.

Outcome 3: Screening & Monitoring Alerts

  • Review name screening alerts within SLA and accurately determine whether they are false positives or potential true hits requiring escalation.
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts within SLA and determine whether they can be closed or require further investigation.
  • Ensure decisions are appropriately documented and escalated where required.

Outcome 4: Process & Technology Improvement

  • Review existing Compliance policies, tools and processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with the Head of Compliance to improve the efficiency, consistency and effectiveness of compliance operations.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to improve compliance workflows and decision-making.

Must-have experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in a role involving analysis, judgement and/or risk assessment ; previous Compliance experience is not strictly required.
  • Experience using AI tools in the workplace , ideally including experimentation with or practical exposure to agentic AI .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information, identify risks and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work with data and technology and learn new systems quickly.

  • Excellent communication – strong written and spoken English, with the ability to clearly explain decisions and recommendations.

  • Data-driven & tech savvy – comfortable working with data and adopting new technologies, including AI tools.
  • Ability to persuade and be persuaded – confident in presenting a point of view while remaining open to alternative perspectives.
  • Self-awareness & self-management – understands their strengths and development areas and can manage their work independently in a fast-moving environment.

Attention to detail : You’ll be managing multiple, complex workstreams from numerous stakeholders. It will be important for you to keep track of everything and notice when information is missing or inconsistent.

Excellent listener and clear communicator : We have a variety of nationalities and for many people, English isn’t their first language. For you to excel, you’ll need to be present in your calls and make sure you properly receive and thoughtfully send messages to others in the business.

The interview process

The successful candidate will participate in the following interview stages. We anticipate the process to last no more than 3 weeks from start to finish.

One-way Video Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a one-way video interview. This allows us to better understand your skills, experience and interest in Compliance early in the process.

Technical Round

A 90-minute interview with a member of the Hiring Team. This will include a live assessment of your analytical thinking, judgement and ability to work through Compliance-related scenarios.

Behavioural / Soft Skills Round

A 60-minute interview with a member of the Hiring Team, focusing on your recent work situations and how you demonstrate ownership, humility, structured thinking, attention to detail, communication and judgement.

Offer + Reference Interviews

We’ll make a non-binding offer verbally or over email, followed by short phone or video calls with references that you provide to us.

Requirement for background screening

Please be aware that Sleek is a regulated entity and as such is required to perform different levels of background checks on staff depending on their role.

This may include using external vendors to verify

  • Any bankruptcy or adverse credit history
