About this role
Director of Exhibitor Planning & Performance is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for driving financial business planning and forecasting, performance analysis, and operational excellence for our exhibitor business (Global Exhibitor Sales and Gartner C-level Communities sales team). This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a growth mindset who thrives on solving complex challenges and developing talent. The Director is accountable for the quality and timeliness of the team’s deliverables, manages key stakeholder relationships, and plays a pivotal role in supporting sales leaders in achieving their Mission Critical Priorities. Responsibilities include budgeting, capacity planning, forecasting, KPI reporting, trending and performance analysis, and executive presentation support.
What you’ll do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2-4 analysts, ensuring high-quality output and timely delivery of all team deliverables.
- Own and execute exhibitor budget planning, headcount/capacity planning, corporate business forecasting, and trending analysis.
- Build analytical models to support short and long-term planning
- Oversee stakeholder management, building and maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional partners, including Sales, Finance, and Operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholder needs, feedback, and alignment on business objectives.
- Deliver insightful KPI reporting and business performance analysis and trending to inform financial outlook for our sales leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Support creation of impactful slides and materials for executive presentations, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
- Drive analysis, modeling, and performance reporting ensuring accuracy and deadlines are consistently met.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within planning and performance functions, including leveraging AI to enhance output, insights, and efficiencies.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and insights to senior leadership
- Champion a data-driven approach to decision-making, leveraging analytics to solve business problems and support growth.
- Managing ad-hoc requests
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in FP&A, business planning, analytics, and/or sales ops and with at least 4 years in a people management role.
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, with direct accountability for team output.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of an organization. Ability to distill large amounts/complex information into a concise message
- Independent thinking and complex problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience building relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience working with sales leaders and supporting executive-level presentations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 120,000 USD - 167,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
