Mailing, Shipping, Receiving, Facilities, and Administrative Support

Provides support to the Facilities Director in overseeing mailroom operations, including the receipt, sorting, distribution, and tracking of incoming and outgoing mail and packages. Assists with departmental shipping and receiving activities and helps maintain College of Engineering fleet vehicles, including state vehicles and golf carts. Conducts inventory checks and supports equipment tracking efforts to ensure accurate records. Assists with processing and monitoring facility-related requests such as maintenance work orders, space impact requests, building access control requests, and occupant relocation requests. Supports the Facilities & Safety Manager in addressing faculty and staff facility service needs and helps coordinate the removal, relocation, and installation of office and laboratory equipment, furniture, and other facility-related assets. Provides administrative support for facilities operations, special projects, and other departmental initiatives as needed.

Engineering DFX Lab Support

Supports the Engineering DFX Lab by assisting the Lab Manager with monitoring laboratory equipment, resources, and daily operations. Helps maintain adequate supplies and materials necessary for efficient lab functionality and provides assistance to Technical Services Staff (TSS) with projects and routine activities. Assists with user training by providing guidance on laboratory procedures and best practices, while monitoring lab usage to promote adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and established laboratory guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates for this position must be enrolled as undergraduate students and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required, along with general computer skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and follow established safety procedures. Working knowledge of basic mechanical tools and physical measurement units and be comfortable using common hand and power tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, saws, scissors, pliers, drills, and tape measures. Candidates should be capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. A valid driver's license is required, and individuals must be willing and able to obtain forklift certification if requested. Additionally, the position may require travel between USF campus locations to perform assigned duties, deliveries, errands, and other operational responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
