About The Role
- Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
- Starting Pay: $23.00/hour, with higher pay available depending on experience
- Travel: Up to 50% travel required
- Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for a potential sign-on bonus
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic to perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable responding to emergency repairs and traveling as needed.
Must be available 24/7 for emergencies and able to travel out of town and out of state.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment.
- Follow daily briefings with the Shop Foreman to carry out assigned work.
- Minimize equipment downtime by ensuring efficient access to parts, tools, and equipment.
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner, including mileage, hours, and repair details.
- Route emergency repair requests to the Shop Foreman to ensure priority assignments are addressed.
- Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a neat and orderly condition.
- Participate in team-based assignments to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment and/or trailers, cranes, trucks, or similar equipment.
- At least 5 years of experience in two additional technical areas , such as:
- Hydraulics
- Electronics
- Small engines
- Other related mechanical systems
- High School Diploma/GED with trade school or equivalent training in diesel mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Training and experience equivalent to 2 years of technical/vocational school and 5 years of hands-on repair and maintenance experience .
- Strong drive for achieving results and ability to convey a sense of urgency when appropriate.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English .
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Travel Requirements
- Must be available 24/7 for emergency repairs .
- Ability to travel out of town and out of state .
- Up to 50% travel may be required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, standing, and lifting.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours when required.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds .
- Assistance is required when lifting items weighing more than 75 pounds .
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Additional certifications may be required based on job responsibilities.
