Seasonal Wireline Field Engineer

Job Summary
Based out of the Edmonton, AB location and under the direction of the District Manager, the Seasonal Wireline Field Engineer performs Open Hole wireline services. Responsibilities include supervising field crews, maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with company policies, managing customer data, and fostering strong client relationships. This role contributes to service quality improvements through operational excellence and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute Open Hole wireline services in accordance with Weatherford standards.
- Supervise field crews and ensure safe, efficient job execution.
- Maintain wireline tools, equipment, and vehicles in optimal condition.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational policies.
- Accurately manage customer data and job documentation.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Participate in service quality improvement initiatives.
- Complete the Level 3 Field Supervisor learning plan (mentorship, formal training, online modules).
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Open Hole operations including radiation safety, ballistics, pressure control, rig-up procedures, and preventative maintenance.
- Lead complex Open Hole wireline jobs including planning, rig-up, winch operation, and post-job clean-up.
- Perform cable tests, re-heads, tool calibration, and system checks.
- Prepare and distribute advanced logs and data for processing and archiving.
- Maintain work locations and facilities in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
- Report lessons learned and best practices using Weatherford’s online systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of wireline field experience in Open Hole operations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong understanding of math, physics, and electrical principles.
- Familiarity with Windows-based systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in remote field environments.
- Availability for 24/7 on-call duty with scheduled days off.
- Willingness to relocate to Edmonton, AB.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
