About The Role

Kent is looking for an Electrical Supervisor to supervise field electrical commissioning activities on the Woodfibre LNG Project in Squamish, British Columbia.

Skills and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
  • Coordinate electrical technicians, contractors, and vendor representatives.
  • Verify equipment readiness prior to testing and energization.
  • Supervise testing of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, cables, UPS systems, batteries, grounding systems, and associated equipment.
  • Ensure electrical work complies with approved drawings, procedures, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate electrical isolations, LOTO, switching, and permits.
  • Participate in system walkdowns and punch-list activities.
  • Witness and document electrical testing and commissioning.
  • Support troubleshooting and corrective work.
  • Coordinate interfaces with I&C, Mechanical, Operations, Construction, and Completions teams.
  • Ensure test records and commissioning documentation are complete and accurate.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification

  • Electrical trade certification, technical diploma, engineering qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 8+ years of relevant electrical experience, including commissioning and supervisory experience.
  • Experience with industrial MV/LV distribution and electrical equipment.
  • LNG, oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, LOTO, energization, and testing requirements.

Communication

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
