About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Fitter) who is looking for an opportunity to work within a supportive and close-knit team in a progressive and growing company.

Working for JNL, one of the Wairarapa's largest employers, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our manufacturing equipment through both scheduled and breakdown maintenance.

This is a hands-on role where you will

Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose faults and identify the causes of unplanned equipment downtime.
Complete repairs efficiently to minimise production interruptions.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share ideas to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams in a large manufacturing environment.

This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

What we need from you

To be successful in this role, you will have

Experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Fitter, or similar trade-qualified professional.
Sound knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair practices.
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
The ability to work independently and make sound decisions when required.
Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.

Essential requirements

Applicants must have

New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering (Level 4) or an equivalent qualification, or relevant industry experience.
Welding certification.
Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence.
Forklift (F) Endorsement is advantageous but not essential.
New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
