Field Operations Administrator (FOA) – Structured Cabling

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Field Operations Administrator (FOA) - Structured Cabling to join our team. FOAs provide overall training and quality support to the geographic office and project teams. This role is responsible for the onboarding, training, and records associated with craft team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage set up and recordkeeping of Field employment

  • Assist with the projection of needed team members in collaboration with Craft Recruiting Team, Project Superintendents, General Superintendent, and Field Operations Manager (FOM)
  • Identify and pre-screen potential team members for Field Operations Manager (FOM)
  • Assist new team members in navigating Mortenson and identify resources
  • Maintain confidential management files for Field Operations Manager (FOM)
  • Support resolution of HR and Payroll related items - escalate for project teams as needed
  • Order new IT accounts for Field Leaders, audit and support enrollment in additional benefits
  • Own craft team member transfers - track needs of project teams, provide transfer letters to team members, update mobility eligibility as applicable, etc

Craft Onboarding

  • Deliver field orientation to craft new hires - Support training of project admins to deliver excellent craft team member new hire orientation - facilitate as needed for site coverage
  • Ensure that new hire paperwork is completed correctly and timely - Audit new team member drug screening postings, conversions, and transfers of craft team members
  • Accurately maintain applicant log - Work with craft recruiting team to streamline new hire logistics for craft team members, including orientation logs, badge systems, project maps, weekly thresholds, etc

Assist Field Operations Manager (FOM) in Safety, Quality and Craft Training Programming

  • Support project teams as needed to facilitate trainings occurring onsite, including reserve venues, rooms, equipment, and catering as needed
  • Support project admins and safety teams in maintaining 100% completion of training logs to include record retention and LMS credit
  • For offsite trainings:
  • Coordinate enrollment of team members and track any pre-work as required
  • Prepare, copy, assemble, and distribute materials
  • Set up and clean up event training rooms
  • Maintain records of training events, support credit assignment in LMS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of experience in administrative support
  • 2+ years of experience in construction or related industry
  • Knowledge of general safety protocols in construction
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Project management, leadership, and business skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Strong facilitation, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

The base compensation range for this role is: $59,000 - $80,000. Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skill, and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
