osition Overview

The Assistant Spa & Wellness Manager supports the Spa & Wellness Manager in the overall operation and management of the spa and wellness facilities. The role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining the highest service standards, supporting team performance, and contributing to the financial and operational success of the department.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of spa treatments, wellness services, guest relations, team leadership, and day-to-day spa operations, with a strong focus on luxury hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Spa & Wellness Manager in the daily operation and administration of the spa and wellness facilities.
  • Ensure all spa treatments, wellness services, and guest interactions are delivered consistently to the highest standards.
  • Supervise and support therapists, receptionists, fitness and wellness team members, and other spa colleagues.
  • Monitor daily operations, including appointments, treatment rooms, guest flow, cleanliness, and overall service delivery.
  • Ensure all guests receive a warm, personalized, and professional experience throughout their visit.
  • Handle guest feedback, requests, and complaints professionally, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of spa team members.
  • Conduct regular team briefings and ensure effective communication of operational updates and departmental objectives.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and support to improve performance.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel, spa, health, hygiene, safety, and brand standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, hygiene, and overall ambiance throughout the spa and wellness areas.
  • Monitor treatment products, amenities, and retail inventory, ensuring appropriate stock levels and timely replenishment.
  • Support preventive maintenance initiatives and ensure any equipment or facility issues are reported and followed up promptly.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, and manpower planning to meet operational requirements.
  • Support the Spa & Wellness Manager in achieving departmental revenue, productivity, and profitability targets.
  • Monitor treatment bookings, therapist productivity, retail sales, promotions, and other opportunities to maximize revenue.
  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and analyzing departmental performance.
  • Promote spa treatments, wellness programs, memberships, packages, and retail products to maximize guest engagement and revenue opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with guests and encourage repeat visits and loyalty.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure a seamless and consistent guest experience.
  • Stay informed about current spa, wellness, beauty, and fitness trends and identify opportunities to enhance the department's offerings.
  • Act as the Spa & Wellness Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations and service standards.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Spa & Wellness Manager or Director of Spa.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Spa Supervisor, Senior Therapist, or Reception Lead in a 5-star hotel, luxury

resort, or high-end wellness facility.

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Healthcare/Wellness, or a related

field.

  • Professional certification in massage therapy, aesthetics/beauty therapy, or CIDESCO/CIBTAC/ITEC qualifications (often

preferred, especially for hands-on oversight).

  • Knowledge of spa management software (e.g., Opera, SpaSoft).
  • Ability to train, and motivate a multicultural team of therapists and receptionists.
