Together · Cheadle, England, United Kingdom
About The Role
As a Senior Data Governance Analyst here at Together you will provide subject matter expertise and leadership in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Together’s Data Governance Framework. You will drive data ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata management and governance maturity across the organisation as a recognised expert in the data, processes and controls.
As a trusted adviser to the business and technical and delivery stakeholders alike, you will be leading governance initiatives; influencing decision making and embedding practical data management controls that support regulatory compliance, operational effectiveness and strategic business outcomes.
This is also a great opportunity to be involved in data architecture activities including contributing to data modelling, source-to-target mapping, data structure definition and the assessment of data impacts across change. Crucially, as an experienced Senior member of the Team, you will be supporting our Data Governance Analysts and Data Stewards with guidance and mentorship.
Candidates with a blend of the following skills and experience will be highly regarded
- A relevant background and experience across Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Science or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience implementing, operating or materially improving a formal Data Governance Framework.
- Strong practical knowledge of data ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata management, business glossaries, data lineage, data classification and critical data elements.
- Ability to influence, advise and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, including where there is no direct authority.
- Experience developing and embedding data governance policies, standards, procedures and proportionate controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including root cause analysis and the ability to translate complex findings into practical recommendations.
- Intermediate Excel and SQL skills, with the ability to interrogate data and evidence conclusions. Experience of a major programming language is beneficial.
- Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview or equivalent modern data and governance platforms.
- Experience with data governance, metadata, modelling or data quality tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Erwin, Hackolade or equivalent.
- Experience engaging and managing third-party suppliers or technology partners.
- DAMA CDMP certification or another recognised data management qualification.
