About The Role

Position: Full time, 12 month fixed-term contract

The Claims Analytics Analyst is responsible for helping Claims provide a robust, reliable and governed 'one version of the truth' across claims data. You will make that data readily accessible through self-service tools and regular reporting, helping the business extract valuable insights, make better decisions and embed best practice in claims analytics.

You will deliver accurate and insightful reporting that helps Claims Managers understand performance, oversee their portfolios and achieve consistently strong outcomes for our clients and the business, in line with MS Amlin's values.

Working with the Chief Claims Officer, the Head of Claims Optimisation and the Claims Leadership Team, you will help deliver the Claims management information strategy and wider modernisation objectives. You will use the latest tools and techniques to maximise the value of our claims data and support a suite of accessible, self-service dashboards and reports.

The role sits within Claims Optimisation and provides an important link between Claims colleagues, specialist data teams and our strategic delivery partners.

About The Job

While there is rarely a typical day, here's a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job

  • Act as a focal point for the Claims team and wider business stakeholders, ensuring that known and ad hoc claims data requirements are delivered in a robust, standardised and timely format.
  • Act as the Claims focal point for company-wide data and analytics projects and initiatives, representing Claims on appropriate steering groups and forums, ensuring that Claims requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Act as the data governance representative and data steward for Claims
  • Produce claims report templates and commissioned ad hoc analysis and reports in a timely way. These currently include Claim Portfolio Reports, the Claim Deep Dive Report, the Open Large Loss Report, CAT and other regulatory reports, and the Large Movement Report.
  • Work with the Chief Claims Officer, the Head of Claims Optimisation and others where delegated to create and implement the strategic deliverables for Claims management information.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Claims, our strategic partner and other functions to deliver management information and data requests, prioritising work so that Claims Analytics resources are used effectively.
  • Oversee and manage large-loss reporting tools, including the Open Large Loss Report, CAT Report and Claims Watchlist, and provide the resulting analysis and insights.
  • Support the Claims Analytics Manager in assessing the Claims department's management information and analytics training needs, working with the Claims Business Manager through the Claims Professional of the Future initiative to make relevant training and resources available.
  • Identify ways to continuously improve and future-proof claims datasets, reporting tools and outputs so they remain fit for purpose and extract as much value as possible from our data.
  • Support the Claims Manager with the ongoing oversight and performance of claims data and analytical services provided by Genpact.
  • Deliver appropriate self-service reporting, data and analytics tools, and help the department use them effectively.
  • Participate proactively in claims initiatives as required.
  • Support delivery of the Claims management information strategy by applying a strong technical understanding of Claims and management information and analytics tools to provide robust, accessible data as 'one version of the truth'.
  • Provide a London-hours point of contact for claims data questions and time-sensitive reporting or dashboard issues, working directly with business users when an immediate response is needed.
  • Create and improve Power BI dashboards and views, as well as helping colleagues use them with confidence.
  • Investigate discrepancies in London market claims data, market messages and downstream systems, working with the relevant teams to understand and resolve the issue.

What You'll Need

Experience

  • Proven experience in management information data analysis and relevant management information systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of data and analytics tools and systems, including Microsoft Office, Excel and ECF, together with hands-on Power BI experience creating dashboards and views.
  • Knowledge of claims operations, technical claims lifecycles and reserving practices is desirable.
  • Experience of Lloyd's or London market claims data, including an understanding of market messaging and downstream systems such as Subscribe.
  • A CII or similar professional qualification is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
