About The Role

Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

We are looking for a Senior Consumer Insights Manager. As part of the Insights and Planning team, you’ll play a critical, hands-on role in delivering robust consumer insights to support Ōura’s product development and innovation pipeline. You will work cross-functionally to translate consumer needs into actionable product insights and strategies. You will have end-to-end accountability for planning and implementing custom strategic market research and must proficiently draw from a variety of information sources and internal/external resources to develop insights that provide a competitive advantage for Ōura. You will collaborate closely with your Insights and Planning team, as well as third-party vendors to oversee the execution of research that provokes action.

Success requires an individual to think strategically, connecting the dots of the bigger picture, as well as being comfortable in the details of key deliverables. You must be self-motivated, comfortable working in a global, fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end studies using mixed methods: from secondary research for competitive intelligence and early-stage exploratory qualitative research to quantitative methods (e.g., concept testing, segmentation, MaxDiff, pricing)
  • Flex your approach and methodologies as needed to suit timelines, risk levels, and project needs, ensuring rigor in all research outputs
  • Own the ongoing monitoring and dissemination of customer sentiment via continuous feedback mechanisms, partnering with teams to address the highest priority questions and highlight issues and opportunities
  • Serve as a dedicated insights partner to product teams throughout the product lifecycle, including:
  • Identifying actionable segmentation and persona development
  • Assessing competitor offerings to identify differentiators, gaps, and innovation opportunities
  • Supporting innovation and ideation with research to optimize product and features and maximize success probability
  • Evaluating post-launch member experience and behavioral data from a holistic member perspective
  • Present research findings to cross-functional stakeholders in clear, concise, and impactful narratives, distilling relevant information into strategic implications that answer the critical question: “So what, and what should we do about it?”
  • Become the insights expert for your teams, developing a deep understanding of your domain and connecting the work to audience needs and business outcomes
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Strategy, Product, and User Research to both share & gain insights and connect signals across teams
  • Leverage AI tools to improve research design, accelerate synthesis, uncover hidden patterns, and craft compelling narratives that directly influence business outcomes

This is a remote US role with a strong preference for candidates based in the Eastern Time Zone

Requirements

We would love to consider you for this role if you have

  • Prior experience in consumer insights, market research or user research; sufficient experience and confidence to design and lead a research learning plan to support a functional area with light-touch guidance
  • Team player, self driven, strong communicator - With a distributed team it is important to be able to keep things under control without someone overseeing the day to day performance. Particularly important is an ability to present complex insights in a clear, engaging, and impactful manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Product analytics experience (Amplitude, Tableau) and design tools, like Figma
