About The Role
Walter is recruiting for a
Global Inventory Manager (m/f/d)
We are looking for an experienced Global Inventory Manager with proven experience in inventory management, supply chain planning or a closely related field. Candidates with planning experience should additionally demonstrate leadership experience , managerial or functional . The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders across Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Product Management and Finance to optimize inventory performance and support business objectives.
Location: Tübingen / Eschborn, preferably near a Walter office in Europe
Your Mission
- The holder of the position is responsible for ensuring that inventories are closely monitored, pro-actively controlled and aligned with our global targets. The function includes – besides other - following tasks:
- Oversee the global inventory levels and team up with Global planning function to ensure alignment with both, service targets and NWC goals.
- Establish and improve key inventory KPIs, such as Inventory Health metrics, Days in Inventory and Obsolete/Slow-Moving Inventory, creating visibility in collaboration and strengthening role and organizational clarity
- Ensure that global quantities are balanced according to globalization strategy.
- Conduct various analysis of inventory levels and coordinate with the requirements of relevant stakeholders, e.g. planning, finance, production and sales.
- Setting clear performance targets and establish effective Inventory Control Programs, over various types of inventories
- Identify needs for and drive necessary change projects to allow efficient control over the global inventories
- Act as the global point of contact for inventory and networking capital (NWC) matters
Your Profile
- University Degree in economics or engineering (min BSc, preferably MSc or similar)
- 5+ years planning experience. Experience in any adjacent area will be considered an advantage (production, purchasing, logistics, etc.)
- Strong process & project management skills
- Structured & analytical thinking and acting, ability to quickly adapt to new situations
- High degree of independence, personal responsibility, communication and team skills
- Business minded with clear ability to understand the broader commercial context and use freedom to evolve that comes with the role and to influence greater financial results
- Very good exercise with SAP and MS/Office
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
- Experience in working in international teams incl. some travel activity
