JOB SUMMARY

The Social Media Specialist enhances and manages the digital presence of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel across all social media channels, websites, and the Caesars Rewards Mobile App. This role is responsible for creating engaging content, designing and placing digital ads, maintaining accurate online information, and monitoring platform activity to support marketing goals and brand standards. The specialist collaborates closely with internal teams, external vendors, and the Caesars Advertising Media Manager to execute campaigns, optimize creative assets, and ensure regulatory compliance. Additional responsibilities include photography, content scheduling, performance reporting, and supporting promotions, events, and departmental initiatives. This position plays a key role in strengthening online engagement, driving digital strategy, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality communication across all platforms.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

Strategic Leadership

  • Model the organization’s mission, values, ethics, and service culture in all daily interactions and decisions.
  • Support departmental goals by helping implement plans, procedures, and improvements set by management.
  • Identify operational challenges and recommend practical solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise daily activities within the assigned area to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
  • Coordinate staffing, task assignments, and workflow to meet operational needs and maintain service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, addressing issues promptly and escalating when necessary.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Monitor resource use, supplies, and labor to support cost‑effective operations.
  • Track key performance indicators and report trends, issues, or improvement opportunities to management.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements that enhance productivity and operational outcomes.

Guest Experience & Brand Excellence

  • Maintain a welcoming, professional environment that reflects the organization’s brand and service expectations.
  • Resolve guest or internal partner concerns promptly and effectively, escalating when appropriate.
  • Use feedback and service observations to help improve the overall experience and uphold quality standards.

Talent Development & Leadership

  • Provide daily guidance, coaching, and support to Team Members to ensure strong performance and engagement.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages communication, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and skill development to support Team Member growth and departmental readiness.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One year marketing experience required.
  • One year experience managing multiple professional social media accounts simultaneously required.
  • One year experience managing social media advertising campaigns on Facebook and Twitter required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company driver eligibility requirements, including fewer than three moving violations and fewer than three accidents within the past three years, and no disqualifying driving-related incidents within the past three years, including suspension of driving privileges, DUI/DWI convictions, reckless driving convictions, two or more speeding violations exceeding 25 mph over the posted speed limit, or any citation for unlawful cell phone use while operating a vehicle .

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong guest service, communication, writing, and presentation skills; able to multitask, prioritize, meet strict deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively while remaining adaptable, creative, detail ‑ oriented, and receptive to direction.
  • Proficient with Windows ‑ based office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); skilled in using major social media platforms for business (Facebook, Instagram, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn); and capable of producing, editing, and optimizing digital content including graphics, banners, and photos.
  • Proficient in the use of a digital SLR camera for professional ‑ quality photos and videos; experienced with graphic design and photo ‑ editing tools for social media and digital communication; demonstrates strong organizational and time ‑ management skills.
  • Maintains a neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene; demonstrates documented teamwork behaviors; and consistently delivers high ‑ quality written and verbal communication.
  • Able to remain mobile throughout the casino; stand for extended periods; stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items; operate office equipment; respond to visual and auditory cues; lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds; and work effectively in fast ‑ paced, stressful environments with varying noise, temperature, lighting, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smoke, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
