High-Level Purpose of the Job Position

The SCD Senior Analyst is part of Maersk’s Global Supply Chain Development function within Maersk Global Sales Growth function. The role contributes to logistics solution sales for Maersk customers, based on identifying and quantifying opportunities and tailoring value propositions for Maersk’s priority customers.

Job Description

The Senior Analyst, Supply Chain Development (SCD), plays a critical role in supporting Maersk's commercial growth agenda by identifying, quantifying, and designing innovative supply chain solutions for strategic customers. Working closely with Regional SCD Managers, Account Teams, Product Teams, and Customers, the role combines deep supply chain expertise, advanced analytics, and consultative problem-solving to develop compelling value propositions that unlock customer value and drive profitable growth for Maersk.

Support Regional SCD teams in identifying customer growth opportunities and developing compelling Maersk logistics solutions in collaboration with cross-functional sales pursuit teams.

What you bring to this role

Technical & Analytical Execution

  • Leverage customer data to develop analytical models, supply chain digital twins, and scenario-based simulations supporting solution evaluation and optimization.
  • Conduct advanced supply chain analyses including Network optimization, Asset utilization, Transportation modelling, Inventory modelling & optimization, and warehouse assessments.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends, risks, inefficiencies, and actionable business insights.
  • Ability to leverage AI capabilities to accelerate data analysis, Industry insights via research, scenario modelling & development of customer-specific supply chain recommendations.
  • Demonstrate curiosity to identify new value propositions and analytical opportunities by leveraging AI and emerging technologies.
  • Utilize analytical tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, AIMMS, and similar platforms to solve complex supply chain challenges.
  • Familiarity with Supply chain twins and simulation-based modelling
  • Translate analytical findings into compelling executive presentations, dashboards, visualizations, and customer-centric supply chain narratives.

Commercial Opportunity Development

  • Support Regional SCD teams in identifying customer growth opportunities and developing compelling Maersk logistics solutions in collaboration with cross-functional sales pursuit teams.
  • Develop insight-led value propositions that address customer pain points and deliver quantifiable business outcomes.
  • Engage directly with customers through discovery workshops, solution discussions, and business case presentations.
  • Apply a holistic understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations to design integrated customer solutions and recommendations.
  • Commercial acumen to understand the revenue implications of every commercial proposal while quantifying the value delivered to customers.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Partner with Regional SCD, Product, Operations and Sales teams to co-create customer solutions.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders through proactive communication and expectation management.
  • Act as a bridge between regional commercial and analytical teams to ensure effective translation of customer requirements into solution designs.

Desired Skills

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Science or any other similar discipline
  • Work experience of 5+ years in Logistics & Supply Chain. Relevant customer facing experience of 4+ years in supply chain consulting is mandatory.
  • Technical & Analytical Capabilities
  • Experience working with supply chain analysis software like Coupa/Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru, AIMMS, Kinaxis, etc.
  • Strong quantitative, research, and data analytics skills contributing towards problem solving
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Publisher)
  • Knowledge of R/Python/Tableau is preferred
  • Communication, Stakeholder & Professional Skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills & must possess ability to influence without authority.
  • Persuasive personality and ability to connect with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-orientated and enjoy being an expert on logistics sector
