Job Family Summary

Responsible for technical leadership and project management for structural engineering projects, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects from inception through completion. Responsible for overall planning, technical direction, coordination with lead offices and multidisciplinary teams, and effective management of project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and resources. Provides expert structural engineering guidance, drives technical excellence and innovation, and ensures that projects are functionally and financially viable, delivered on time and within authorized budgets, and meet applicable technical, safety, and quality standards.

 

Job Description

 

  • 10–15 years of professional experience as a Structural Engineer, with demonstrated expertise in the design of industrial buildings, water-retaining and earth-retaining structures, and related facilities.

·Strong technical expertise in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures.

  • Proven ability to independently lead projects and manage multidisciplinary teams comprising engineers and CAD/BIM technicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the commercial, managerial, and technical aspects of projects.

·  Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.

  • Experience in preparing cost estimates and providing technical and commercial support for bids, tenders, and new project opportunities.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and support to project teams, including mentoring engineers and developing team capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop practical and technically sound alternative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

·Good knowledge and practical application of international structural design codes and standards, including Eurocodes and American codes Code of Practices.

  • Ability to work effectively within geographically dispersed and multicultural teams across regions such as the Middle East, UK, and ANZ. Middle East project experience would be advantageous.

·Proficiency in structural engineering software, preferably MIDAS, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and Autodesk Robot.

  • Ability to effectively represent the structural engineering team in client workshops, technical meetings, and project discussions.

·Strong understanding of safety-in-design principles, processes, and related engineering practices.

  • Experience in performing and ensuring quality control reviews of structural design calculations, specifications, and drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and effectively.

·Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to take on new and challenging responsibilities in line with business and project requirements.

  • Progress toward Chartered Engineer (CEng) status would be advantageous.
