Instrument Field Surveyor

About The Role
ISS International S.p.A. is looking for Instrument Field Surveyor (Office/Field) to be involved in a Tags Registration Project regarding Oil & Gas plants in the UAE.
Main responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys of instrumentation and control equipment in operating facilities.
- Identify and verify instrumentation equipment directly in the field, including instruments, transmitters, switches, control valves, actuators and associated devices.
- Collect equipment identification data, nameplate information, tag numbers, specifications and other relevant technical information.
- Verify field data against P&IDs, Instrument Indexes, datasheets, loop diagrams, equipment lists and other available engineering documentation.
- Recognize and distinguish the main types of instrumentation based on their physical configuration, application and operating principle.
- Demonstrate a practical understanding of common measurement technologies.
- Identify different types of control valves and actuators and understand their basic operating principles.
- Identify instrument installation arrangements, impulse lines, manifolds, tubing, junction boxes and associated field accessories.
- Identify discrepancies between field conditions and available engineering documentation.
- Support the preparation, review and validation of instrumentation master data and field survey databases.
- Maintain accurate and traceable survey records and ensure that collected information is complete and consistent.
- Comply with all applicable site HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures and access restrictions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or a related discipline
- 2–4 years of relevant field experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy or other process industries.
- Good practical knowledge of industrial instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow and level instruments, transmitters, switches, indicators and associated field devices.
- Ability to readily recognize different types of instrumentation in the field based on their physical configuration, measurement principle and application.
- Good knowledge of control valves and associated actuators and accessories, including their main types, construction, applications and basic operating principles.
- Good knowledge of instrumentation installation and associated field components, including manifolds, impulse lines, tubing, junction boxes, instrument stands and local instrument panels.
- Good understanding of basic control and safeguarding systems, including the role of field instrumentation within DCS, PLC and SIS/ESD architectures.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, Instrument Indexes, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams and other basic instrumentation documentation.
- Desirable: Previous experience with SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM), particularly in relation to equipment and functional location master data.
- Desirable: Familiarity with the SAP Fiori user interface and with SAP Asset Intelligence Network (SAP AIN) for accessing, managing and exchanging asset-related information and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with personnel at different organizational and technical levels.
- Ability to work in harsh and challenging field environments, including demanding weather conditions and remote or industrial site conditions.
- Proactive, hands-on attitude, strong willingness to learn and ability to adapt to new environments and technical requirements.
- Good knowledge in Excel
- Good spoken & communication skill
Training & Courses
- Basic HSE / Site Safety Training.
- Familiarity with Oil & Gas equipment identification and field survey practices.
- Training in instrumentation equipment, measurement principles and basic control systems is desirable.
- Training or practical experience in SAP S/4HANA PM, SAP Fiori and/or SAP Asset Intelligence Network is desirable.
- The activities will be performed at our office in Abu Dhabi and Oil&Gas Plants in the UAE.
- The resource will stay on site until a maximum stay of 90 consecutive days then he will be back to the office in Abu Dhabi.
- The contract duration will be 12 months, liable to extension to another 12 months.
- The rotation will be Resident with one month leave after of one year in the UAE.
