About the Role

As an EHR Technician I at Quincy Medical Group, you will help ensure patient health information is accurate, complete, and available to the care teams who need it. You will review, scan, index, and verify documents within the electronic health record while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently with electronic records and repetitive, accuracy-focused tasks. Your work behind the scenes plays an important role in helping providers access the right patient information at the right time.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Primarily computer-based work requiring sustained attention to detail, accuracy, and productivity while handling confidential patient information.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, scan, and index documents and images into the appropriate patient record, category, and subcategory within the electronic health record.
  • Verify patient information and document quality before importing records to ensure information is accurate, complete, and legible.
  • Audit indexed documents for accuracy and make corrections as needed.
  • Review outstanding orders, connect documents to the appropriate orders and encounters, and place orders when necessary for indexing purposes.
  • Identify incomplete reports and route them to the appropriate provider or department for follow-up.
  • Process incoming electronic faxes and determine the appropriate action according to established guidelines.
  • Route documents and results to provider in-baskets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete discrete data entry for patient results and other required information.
  • Maintain established quality, accuracy, and productivity standards.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow established health information management and organizational procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous customer service or administrative experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills with the ability to learn electronic health record systems and workflows.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work while meeting established productivity expectations.
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information and take appropriate steps to correct or route the issue.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with providers and other departments as needed.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $15.35 - $23.03 per hour, with actual pay determined by experience, education, skills, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
