Job Description

Sales Power is launching a National Recruitment Consulting role to strengthen advisor recruitment capability and improve pre-contract sales effectiveness across the advisor recruitment pipeline.

Reporting to the Advisor Growth & Retention team, the National Recruitment Consultant will serve as a dedicated coach, trainer, and subject matter expert, partnering with Field Leaders and, Recruitment Consultants , to enhance recruitment execution, improve candidate conversion, and build sustainable recruitment capability.

The role will initially focus on supporting Western Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, where advisor growth opportunities and recruitment activities are expanding. The successful candidate will also help design scalable processes, tools, and best practices that can be leveraged nationally as part of a future-state Recruitment Centre of Excellence.

This opportunity is ideal for a highly respected field leader, advisor or former advisor or anyone with extensive industry experience, strong coaching capabilities, and a passion for developing future advisor talent.

What will you do?

Recruitment Coaching & Field Enablement

  • Coach recruitment consultants and field leaders on advisor recruitment strategies, candidate engagement, LLQP candidate support and pre-contract sales execution.
  • Provide direct support on high-priority recruitment opportunities and key candidate interactions.
  • Mentor developing recruitment teams and help build confidence and effectiveness in recruitment conversations.
  • Partner with regional leaders to identify capability gaps and recommend targeted coaching interventions.
  • Support in strengthening follow-up practices, pipeline management, objection handling, and candidate conversion nationally.

Capability Building & Best Practice Development

  • Develop recruitment playbooks, coaching guides, conversation frameworks, and training resources focused on pre-contract sales excellence.
  • Identify and document leading recruitment practices from across the field.
  • Contribute to the development of a consistent advisor recruitment methodology across Sales Power.
  • Help establish foundational processes and standards that support a future Recruitment Centre of Excellence.

Strategic Recruitment Support

  • Provide surge capacity support to regions experiencing elevated recruitment activity or resource constraints.
  • Analyze recruitment challenges, pipeline barriers, and conversion trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Share field insights and recommendations with Advisor Growth & Retention leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve recruitment efficiency, effectiveness, and candidate quality.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services distribution, advisor recruitment, business development, or related sales leadership roles.
  • Proven success as a financial advisor, sales leader, advisor recruiter, or business development professional.
  • Strong understanding of advisor career pathways, advisor recruitment practices, and sales pipeline management.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing sales professionals is strongly preferred.
  • LLQP licensed, or previous experience obtaining and maintaining an LLQP license, is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong consulting and influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex sales concepts into practical, actionable guidance.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly collaborative with strong judgment and business acumen.
  • Ability to identify trends, diagnose performance challenges, and recommend solutions.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
