About The Role

Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.

To be part of this project, we are looking for Software & M&C Senior Engineer . The responsibilities of the position are as follows:

Responsibilities

Analyse and trade off critical Ground Segment requirements and flow them down to Monitoring and Control (M&C) and Supervision systems.
Define M&C and Supervision requirements for Ground Segment infrastructure and services.
Define the high-level software architecture for the monitoring and control of infrastructure, and for the supervision and reporting of services.
Define implementation and test plans for the proposed software subsystems.
Perform the technical follow-up of subcontractor activities related to design, requirements compliance, development and validation of the subsystems.
Support the higher-level integration of subcontractor software subsystems into the overall Ground Segment.
During the operational phase, act as the technical point of contact for anomalies and support their technical resolution.

Minimum requirements

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering for telecommunications or complex ground infrastructure.
Strong experience with Linux-based systems.
Experience with networking and distributed systems.
Knowledge of virtualisation and cloud platforms.
Experience in software architecture, implementation planning, testing and system integration.
Knowledge of satellite communications.
Experience in managing or technically coordinating technology projects and subcontractors.
Nationality of an EU Member State and willingness to undergo an EU Secret clearance process.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.
