Fullstack Developer (Operations & Automation) – Barcelona

About Keonn

Keonn is a leading manufacturer of RFID hardware and software products for sectors like retail, healthcare, and logistics. Our team is comprised of experienced engineers and PhDs working on cutting-edge radiofrequency, robotics, and cloud-based software. We are looking for a proactive Fullstack Developer to join our Operations team and drive the digitalization of our internal processes.

The Role

In this position, you will bridge the gap between software development and operational excellence. You will not only be responsible for writing high-quality code but will also take ownership of our in-house test and quality software for RFID hardware, as well as of specific digitalization projects from start to finish. A key part of the mission is evolving these applications from local, on-premise tools into secure, cloud-hosted web services. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will act as a technical reference within the Operations team, leading and mentoring at least one more engineer.

Main Tasks

  • Project Ownership: Lead the development and continuous improvement of internal tools for testing, automation, and process digitalization across Quality, Production, Purchasing, and Service departments.
  • Fullstack Development: Design and implement both Front-end and Back-end solutions, ensuring robust documentation and seamless integration with Keonn’s cloud systems.
  • Test & Validation Software: Develop and maintain the software used to drive, automate and log the functional testing of our hardware products, including interfacing with Linux-based devices and test equipment.
  • Cloud & Security: Contribute to the migration of internal applications towards secure, cloud-hosted services, covering authentication and access control, data segregation, and secure deployment on AWS.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the technical lead for internal operational tools, managing at least one team member and coordinating project timelines.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the Operations team to detect bottlenecks and proactively suggest technological improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Coordination: Coordinate software improvements affecting Operations across different departments in the company, mostly Product Development.
  • Decision Making: Participate in choosing the technical stacks and methodologies that will shape the future of Keonn’s internal operations.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in Fullstack development.
  • Leadership: Proven ability or strong desire to take responsibility for projects and mentor more junior colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern Fullstack environments (Javascript, PHP, Python, MariaDB) and experience managing and deploying with local/on-premise servers.
  • Cloud & Security (valued, not essential): Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC), and familiarity with application security fundamentals: authentication and authorization, secrets management, TLS, and audit logging. This is an area you will be supported to develop within the role.
  • Hardware and Testing Skills: Proven experience interacting with Linux based hardware, as well as utilizing physical test tools and equipment.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to negotiate priorities, manage expectations, and effectively collaborate with various cross-functional departments.
  • Ways of Working: Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools as part of a professional workflow, with sound judgement about when to rely on them and when to verify.
  • Language Skills : Fluent in Catalan and strong professional level of English (written and spoken)
  • Development Practices: Experience with version control (Github) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mindset: A proactive "problem-solver" who enjoys seeing their code directly improve physical production and quality processes.
  • Dedication: This is a full-time, exclusive dedication role.
  • Work Permit: Eligible to work legally in Spain (permanent residency or free access to the job market).

We Offer

  • Stability: Indefinite contract with a 6-month trial period.
  • Modern Tooling: Access to enterprise AI assistants for coding and documentation.
  • Flexible Compensation: Meal Card and Transportation Card.
  • Health Insurance Plan Fully Covered by the Company.
  • Prime Location: Work from our new 4,000sqm corporate headquarters next to Westfield La Maquinista in Barcelona.
  • Company Culture: A young, international, and dynamic environment with specialty coffee and table tennis.
  • Growth: Support for online training programs to help you keep pace with cutting-edge RFID and IoT technologies.
