About The Role

Kent is looking for a Systems Completion Engineer to be based in Baytown, TX at our client site supporting projects.

This individual reports to the Systems Completion Manager and will interact with Company and Contractor construction teams to ensure that all systems are mechanically complete and commissioned prior to handover to the Start-Up Team.

Skills and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Experience with Systems Completion database.
  • Review and mark up drawings to ensure tags and ITR assignment are accurate and comprehensive.
  • Establish and set-up Systems Completion Database.
  • Establish completions workflows and certification procedure.
  • Develop DOR between various EPC Contractors / Systems Completion and Manufacturing.
  • Drive execution of commissioning activities.
  • Steward issue resolution between Engineering, construction & quality.
  • Support administration of the System Completion Database (SCDB) - Hexagon Smart Completions" (HSC) to track all System Completion Activities.
  • Review consolidated asset data set vs engineering lists/drawings for consistency and comprehensiveness
  • Review systemization and check sheet assignment.
  • Perform System Owner Functions (understand critical path for comm/SU, interface with engineering and construction on critical issues).
  • Assist with translation of Turnaround SOW documents and assigning WBS in Hexagon.
  • Coordinate and lead punch list walkdowns and punch list consolidation meetings.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification

  • College / University degree and/or technical diploma and 5 plus years of systems completions experience.
  • Brownfield experience and field experience is required
  • Mechanical Completions/SH Handover Experience Required
  • Previous successful leadership experience working in Mechanical Completion and Commissioning environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of an electronic Systems Completions database management system.
  • In-depth knowledge of Project Completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria. As well as facilities commissioning and Start-Up operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful working relationships and become a team player.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software programs.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as required to function effectively within a project team and to communicate with project management, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving common goals and objectives. Demonstrates integrity, confidence, and decisiveness in leadership approach.
  • Skill in identifying, addressing, and resolving conflicts or disagreements within the team in a fair and constructive manner. Facilitates healthy discussions and promotes mutual understanding and cooperation.
  • Sets clear performance expectations, regularly monitors progress, and provides ongoing feedback and recognition to team members. Addresses performance issues promptly and fairly and identifies opportunities for improvement.
