Job Description
We are seeking a technical Data Engineer to join Nine's QMS Integration Program. Reporting operationally to the Data Analyst (Lead), this dual-stream role sits across both People & Culture (Workday HCM) and Finance (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
The core objective is to build, test, and execute automated technical data pipelines, ETL/ELT transformation scripts, BigQuery staging models, and automated file ingestion suites across all mock migration cycles, dress rehearsals, and final cutover weekend.
Day to day you will
- Build and define technical ETL/ELT pipeline architectures, automated file extraction routines, Google BigQuery staging tables, and automated crosswalk lookup structures for employee master and financial datasets.
- Analyse source and target system schemas (Workday EIBs, Chris21, D365, NetSuite COA, Basware, Salesforce) to build automated transformation scripts, error-logging routines, and reconciliation delta scripts.
- Execute automated extraction, translation, and conversion pipelines across Mock Migration 1, Mock Migration 2, and timed Dress Rehearsals to optimise query performance and lock in the cutover schedule.
- Maintain, patch, and optimise transformation SQL logic based on SIT/UAT defect feedback, and perform ad-hoc test environment data re-loads.
- Execute live cutover data pipelines for final NetSuite hard-close balances, P&C master data, AP/AR delta loads, and D365 opening journals while providing real-time technical monitoring.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience building automated ETL/ELT data pipelines, complex transformation scripts, and using BigQuery for staging tables, relational models, and complex SQL scripts.
- Hands-on proficiency with Git version control and data pipeline orchestration frameworks such as DBT.
- Technical familiarity with enterprise HR systems (Workday EIBs, Chris21) and Financial ERP systems (Dynamics 365, NetSuite COA, Salesforce, Basware).
- Demonstrated ability to write automated data cleansing routines, performance-tune SQL queries for high-volume datasets, and implement robust data privacy/security frameworks (e.g., column-level masking, encryption, RBAC for sensitive PII and financial data).
- Experience in an ASX-listed or large enterprise environment (Media industry experience or exposure to Workday HCM/D365 migration toolsets is highly advantageous).
