About The Role

Job vacancy: Kitchen Helper

Your responsibility will be to support the efficient operation of the kitchen by receiving and storing food and other supplies, assisting with basic food preparation including vegetable preparation, maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment, and performing general cleaning tasks under supervision.

You will also ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards, contributing to the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality meals and supporting the kitchen team in daily operations.

In this role you will

  • Assist in washing, peeling and preparing basic food ingredients to support timely and efficient meal preparation;
  • Clean kitchen utensils, equipment and tableware to ensure continuous availability and compliance with hygiene standards;
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, preparation areas and storage spaces to promote a safe and organised working environment;
  • Handle and dispose of food waste according to established procedures to support hygiene standards and food waste reduction initiatives;
  • Follow HACCP, food safety and workplace safety procedures at all times to prevent contamination and ensure a safe kitchen environment;
  • Clean kitchen floors, refrigerators, freezers and storage areas as required to maintain overall kitchen hygiene;
  • Assist with basic cooking operational tasks to support the efficient running of daily kitchen activities;
  • Set up kitchen or dining areas for internal catering events to ensure readiness and timely service delivery;
  • Handle kitchen equipment carefully and report any malfunction or safety concern to prevent operational disruptions and accidents;
  • Replenish basic kitchen supplies to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of

  • School Certificate (SC) and/or Professional qualification in Restaurant and Bar Services;
  • 3 years of working experience in Hotel/Restaurant/Bar environment/Catering/ Food production field;
  • A valid Food Handlers certificate.
