Role description
As a Network Analyst you play a critical role in shaping and maintaining the networking infrastructure for various projects. This includes working on Network Design Architecture for new initiatives, ensuring that systems are robust, scalable, and optimized for performance for the specific needs of new and existing clients while ensuring designs align with industry best practices. In addition, you will also be responsible for providing network support and administration across multiple client projects.
Role accountabilities
As a Network Analyst, your key responsibilities will include providing technical leadership across projects of varying sizes while ensuring that client requirements are effectively met. You will be tasked with thoroughly understanding project guidelines and delivering solutions that are comprehensive, well-structured, and free from gaps. Additionally, you will ensure that all essential artifacts are retained and properly documented to support audit and compliance requirements, maintaining the integrity and accountability of project deliverables.
Your expertise in network technologies, protocols, and tools will be essential in delivering reliable solutions, while your ability to adapt to the unique demands of each client will position you as a key contributor to the success of their projects. By continuously learning from past experiences, you will refine processes to make them more efficient, reliable, and adaptable, driving ongoing evolution and improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or related industry certification and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of related network design implementation or support experience
- Completion of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. CCNP or CCNA Security or equivalent will be an asset.
- Working experience with network concepts, including the TCP/IP model and application protocols (IPv4/IPv6, DHCP, DNS, ARP, SMTP), routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS), switching technologies (VLAN, STP, MRP, REP, VXLAN) and firewall protocols (VPN, IPSEC, SSL, TLS, IPS/IDS,)
- Solid knowledge of enterprise firewall configurations (Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA) will be an asset.
- Working experience of configuration and monitoring tools to assist in identifying and eliminating performance and security risks.
- Architecting the network to ensure it is configured to adhere to best practices for security and performance
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of network layout, switch configurations, routing tables and VLAN’s.
- Experience implementing and operating network monitoring and management products (PRTG, Sumo Logic, SolarWinds, Cisco Catalyst Centre).
- Experience with private and public clouds (Azure, Amazon Web Services, VMWare)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate the value of proposals to business stakeholders.
- Experience with Linux shell and scripting languages (Python, Bash) is an asset
