The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Building Automation Systems (BMS) to join our Sydney Projects team.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex and technically challenging projects, working alongside highly skilled engineers, technicians, and industry specialists. You'll take ownership of project delivery from initiation through to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you will

  • Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of Building Automation and Controls projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, resources, risks, and budgets to achieve project objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to internal teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards across all project activities.
  • Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain high levels of professionalism, accountability, and accuracy while managing multiple project priorities.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a highly motivated project professional with strong technical and commercial capability within the building automation or HVAC industry.

Essential

  • Trade qualification in Electrical or HVAC, or an Engineering degree.
  • Proven experience delivering Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of BMS architecture, control systems, and overall system design principles.
  • Experience managing projects through design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and client handover.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project financials, programming, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in an evolving, digitally enabled environment.

Desirable

  • Experience coordinating FAT and SAT activities.
  • Knowledge of BIM and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Visio.
  • Experience standardising software deliverables, points lists, project documentation, and commissioning processes.
