About The Role

Job Title

Enterprise Communications Business Partner Lead

Job Description

Enterprise Communications Business Partners play a critical role in helping Philips’ Executive Committee communicate clearly, consistently and credibly with employees, leaders and external stakeholders. As Lead of this team you will orchestrate quality, consistency, coherence and impact in a flat, “first among equals” structure, while continuing to serve as the hands-on Communications Business Partner for the ExCo member you already support.

This is a double-hat role. It combines direct executive communications and business partnering with team leadership, coordination and operational orchestration. The purpose of the role is to strengthen the quality, consistency and impact of executive communications across Philips, while preserving the direct accountability of each Business Partner to the ExCo member and function they support. You will help the team work as one connected enterprise network, ensuring stronger alignment, clearer priorities, better planning and more consistent standards across internal and external executive communications.

A key part of this role will be helping drive a human-led, AI-powered transformation of Communications & Brand. You will help the Enterprise Communications Business Partner team use AI to improve speed, quality, consistency, insight and impact, while maintaining the human judgment, creativity, stakeholder sensitivity and accountability that are essential to trusted communications.

Your role

  • Continue to act as the dedicated Communications Business Partner for the ExCo member you already support, leading the development and execution of internal and external communications strategies that support Philips’ purpose, business priorities, culture and values.
  • Act as the “first among equals” lead for the Enterprise Communications Business Partner team, helping orchestrate team priorities, ways of working, planning rhythms and alignment across ExCo communications.
  • Help drive the human-led, AI-powered transformation of Communications & Brand by identifying practical opportunities to use AI-enabled workflows across executive communications, planning, content development, channel strategy, stakeholder insight, measurement and continuous improvement.
  • Create a clear operating rhythm for the team, including regular planning, prioritization, editorial alignment, issue-spotting, escalation and shared learning.
  • Help ensure that Enterprise Communications Business Partners operate with a consistent standard of strategic counsel, executive narrative, message development, stakeholder alignment, channel use and measurement.
  • Coordinate across the team to identify cross-enterprise themes, dependencies, risks and opportunities, ensuring that executive communications are joined up and avoid duplication, overlap or inconsistent messaging.
  • Partner closely with Communications & Brand leadership and other relevant stakeholders to ensure ExCo communications are integrated and effective.
  • Support the development of common tools, templates, planning approaches and governance for executive communications, including responsible AI use, while allowing flexibility for the needs of each ExCo member and function.
  • Act as a senior sounding board for colleagues on sensitive or complex communications topics, including executive positioning, internal alignment, stakeholder expectations, disclosure sensitivity, legal or reputational considerations and change communications.
  • Help identify where team members need support, coaching or additional alignment, and contribute to a positive team environment focused on trust, performance, impact and shared accountability.
  • Use data, feedback, AI-enabled insights and communications measurement to help the team continuously improve clarity, relevance, engagement and impact.
  • Champion responsible AI adoption across the Enterprise Communications Business Partner team, helping colleagues build confidence, improve workflows and raise the standard of communications delivery while maintaining confidentiality, governance and appropriate human oversight.

You're the right fit if

  • 10+ years of proven experience in internal and/or external communications, combined with business partnering at a very senior, C-suite level within a global international organization, preferably in healthcare, technology or another regulated sector.
  • A strong track record of acting as a trusted adviser to senior executives, combining strategic counsel with hands-on content delivery.
  • The ability to lead in a flat, “first among equals” structure, creating alignment and momentum without relying on formal hierarchy.
  • A strong interest in helping shape a human-led, AI-powered transformation of Communications & Brand, including how AI can improve content creation, planning, workflow management, stakeholder insight, measurement and communications effectiveness.
  • Strong judgment, discretion and maturity when working with confidential, sensitive, legally privileged, disclosure-related or reputation-critical information.
  • Excellent understanding of enterprise communications, executive communications, employee engagement, external positioning, stakeholder management and integrated communications planning.
  • A strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution; you can move quickly from counsel and prioritization to message development and delivery.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and cross-functional alignment skills, with the ability to work effectively across senior stakeholders, peers and communications disciplines.
  • The ability to bring structure to complexity, identify priorities across a busy executive communications agenda and help colleagues focus on the highest-impact work.
  • Positive energy and genuine enjoyment of the work, contributing to team atmosphere and helping colleagues operate with clarity, confidence and trust.
  • Master’s Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Brand Management, Public Affairs or equivalent experience. Philips specifically invites candidates with equivalent experience to apply.
  • How we work together
  • We believe that we are better together than apart. This role is office-based and this means working in person at least 3 days per week.
