What You’ll Be Doing

Evolent is building a new AI platform from the ground up, and this role owns the foundation. As Sr Director, Product Management (AI), you will define and deliver the shared platform components that every AI capability across the company will be built on. This is a rare greenfield opportunity: the architecture is still being shaped, the first capabilities are moving into production now, and the decisions you make in the first year will determine how fast the business can move for the next five. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with architects, applied AI engineers, data scientists, and clinical and operations leaders, with direct visibility to the executive team, on a program that is central to Evolent's strategy. If you want to build the platform rather than consume one - and to see AI change how care actually gets delivered - this is that role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned product lines, aligning with Evolent Health's overall business objectives and market needs.
  • Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback gathering to identify new opportunities and inform product decisions.
  • Translate complex business requirements and user needs into clear, concise product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead, coach and guide a team of product managers, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure successful product development, launch, and adoption.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from ideation and discovery to development, launch, growth, and eventual end-of-life planning.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, identify areas for improvement, and inform future product iterations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and evangelist for assigned products, representing Evolent Health at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product management processes and methodologies within the organization.
  • Manage product budgets and resource allocation effectively to achieve strategic goals.
  • Define and execute enterprise-wide AI product strategy aligned to corporate objectives .
  • Lead product, engineering, and data science organizations in identifying , prioritizing, and scaling AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Champion innovation through structured proof-of-concept programs, pilot initiatives, and AI product incubation efforts.
  • Establish enterprise frameworks for AI governance, model performance monitoring, responsible AI, and scalability.
  • Drive investment decisions and portfolio prioritization for GenAI and advanced analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the healthcare technology or value-based care sector is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex software products from conception to market.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights and data into actionable product strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Deep understanding of agile development methodologies and product lifecycle management ( e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with product analytics tools and A/B testing frameworks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory landscape and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Engineering).
  • Extensive leadership experience overseeing GenAI, AI/ML, or advanced analytics product portfolios.
  • Deep expertise in LLMs, responsible AI, enterprise AI governance, and commercialization of AI products.
  • Proven ability to build productive partnerships with data science, engineering, and executive leadership teams.
  • Experience scaling AI-enabled products across large healthcare, payer, provider, or technology organizations.

Technical Requirements

We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $140,000 - 165,000. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
