The Role

We are seeking a confident and competent Americas Operations Readiness Leader with extensive experience in consulting and executing operations readiness, and a demonstrated ability to generate value throughout the asset lifecycle and drive the successful execution of complex, multi-sector projects.

Provides discipline leadership through hands-on, billable delivery of Operations Readiness services across the respective region, acting as a senior subject matter expert (SME) and client-facing consultant.

Leads the technical direction, quality and consistency of deliverables within their discipline (e.g., Training & Competence, Maintenance Consultancy, Operations Documentation, Technical Content Creation & Management, Operations Readiness, Project Controls), ensuring work is delivered safely, to required standards, and in line with Wood governance.

Supports business development by shaping solutions, contributing to proposals and estimates, and identifying growth opportunities, while maintaining high personal utilization and supporting team chargeability.

Coaches and develops practitioners through technical mentoring, peer review and knowledge sharing; retains direct line management responsibility for discipline team members within region, while contributing to global capability alignment and standards. Accountable for performance management, development, wellbeing and utilization, while maintaining a strong personal billable contribution and technical leadership focus.

Contributes to global discipline capability by sharing best practice, supporting cross-region delivery, and ensuring alignment with global methods, standards and tools.

Client Delivery (Billable)

  • Leads or delivers client engagements as discipline leader / workstream leader, accountable for scope, schedule, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Develops fit-for-purpose deliverables (plans, procedures, training frameworks, maintenance strategies, documentation suites, content management solutions etc.) aligned to client requirements and Operations Readiness best practice.
  • Performs technical assurance, peer reviews and governance checks on discipline outputs; ensures learnings are captured and embedded.
  • Supports project and contract management with progress reporting, change control inputs, and risk / opportunity identification within own assignments.
  • Champions HSSEA expectations on assignments and ensures safe working and compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Supports cross-region delivery initiatives where required, contributing expertise to global programs and collaborating with discipline peers in other regions.

Business Development Support

  • Works with the Operations Readiness Regional Business Manager and Growth & Development organization to identify, qualify and shape opportunities within the discipline portfolio.
  • Contributes to proposals, scopes, estimates and delivery approaches, including mobilization plans, resourcing assumptions and quality plans.
  • Supports client meetings, presentations and workshops; builds trusted-advisor relationships and promotes Wood’s wider service lines.

Capability and Methods

  • Develops and maintains discipline methods, templates, tools and guidance to improve efficiency, quality and repeatability.
  • Contributes to innovation and digitalization opportunities (automation, knowledge management, content platforms) that enhance value to clients and Wood.
  • Supports competence development through mentoring, technical coaching and contribution to training materials / communities of practice.
  • Collaborates with global discipline leads/SMEs to standardize methods, templates and tools across all regions
  • Contributes to global communities of practice and capability development initiatives.

Resource & Performance Contribution

  • Works with the Operations Readiness Regional Business Manager to forecast workload and inform resourcing needs; supports mobilization and onboarding of resources for assignments.
  • Maintains high personal utilization; supports chargeability by planning deliverables and proactively removing delivery blockers.
  • Supports the management of discipline work-in-progress through timely time sheeting, document control and delivery reporting in line with governance.
  • Supports flexible resourcing models, including deployment across regions where required to meet delivery demand and optimize utilization.

Expected

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, Learning & Development, Information Management or related field; or equivalent experience in an operational / technical organization.
  • Relevant professional accreditation or chartership (desirable) aligned to discipline (e.g., engineering, maintenance, L&D, technical authorship, information management).

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Strong track record of delivering consulting or operational improvement work within Operations Readiness / Operations & Maintenance contexts.
  • Demonstrable discipline expertise in one of: Training & Competence, Maintenance Consultancy, Operations Documentation, Technical Content Creation & Management, Project Controls, Operations Readiness Programs.
  • Client-facing experience including facilitation, workshops, requirements capture and presenting complex topics clearly.
  • Working knowledge of management systems and governance (quality, HSSEA, document control, assurance/peer review).
