About The Role
Collects and inputs survey and engineering data into a CAD/CAM/CAE software database, and providing specific deliverables to construction and field survey teams in the form of GPS Machine Control Models, Surfaces, Linework and visual Documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assesses engineering requirements and translates into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software ensures drawings meet product design goals.
- Advanced understanding and usage of CAD/CAM/CAE design and drafting software
platforms.
- Oversees modeling and design duties that require site authorization or have legal precedence.
- Reviews and provides feedback on work product(s) for subordinate CAD Technicians.
- Lead technician in matters of design changes/updates.
- Good collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Fully proficient in a range of technical processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience to perform a range of work assignments.
- Completes a variety of atypical assignments.
- Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments.
- Works with a limited degree of supervision, with overnight focused only on complex new assignments.
- Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate or bachelor’s degree in drafting or survey preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of Computer Aided Design (CAD) support and/or experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will be based from an on-site office on construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain - light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
