Responsibilities

Provide business system user support to the PHS Enterprise specific to Revenue Cycle initiatives. Formulates and defines workflow, scope and objectives based on both business needs, and an understanding of business systems and regulatory requirements; Includes analysis of business needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications. Assist in the implementation of business applications for specific systems and Revenue Cycle workflows. Investigate and provide review and findings for best practices of new application functions and understanding of user requirements and workflows.

  • Works with user community to define business requirements in sufficient detail that systems configuration, development/enhancement, and/or operations activities can be pursued.
  • Coaches user community in coordination with Instructional Designers the proper and effective use of the application system.
  • Supports all applications in use by the Revenue Cycle with an expert knowledge in at least one of the applications that they support.
  • Acts as primary liaison between the application team and the user community, responsible for facilitating communications, coordinating system requests and regulatory updates.
  • Reviews and monitors ongoing Billing and Claims issues and collaborates with other team experts as appropriate.
  • Oversees internal quality assurance efforts to verify functional system behavior.
  • Uses operational knowledge to create specifications for workflow changes and new functionality as appropriate.
  • Maintain complete documentation to ensure requirements have been met, and results are accurate and reproducible

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as, but not limited to, Business and or Health Administration, Nursing or other Clinically oriented position. 6 yrs of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Plus 4 years of practical experience in a healthcare organizations revenue cycle is required. Critical thinking and extreme attention to detail required. Nationally recognized coding credential, i.e. CPC-H, CPC-P,
  • CCS, CCS-P, RHIT preferred. Clinical experience or nurse auditor a plus. Experience in ICD-9, ICDC-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding strongly preferred. Fundamental understanding of hospital Chargemaster
