Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with a passion for hands-on execution and process discipline. This position reports to the DAP (Diffusion, AMHS, and Photo) PE Section manager at SMFAB and provides the opportunity to drive real-time, execution-focused improvements across manufacturing operations. Our team is primarily responsible for keeping production flowing through sound decision-making and proactive quality assurance. We are searching for a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join our team who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume fab environment.

The responsibilities of an Execution Process Engineer in this role include

  • Support manufacturing operations through timely, data-driven lot and equipment dispositions
  • Support quality control processes and rapid-response containment protocols to maintain tight process control
  • Develop and implement improved methods of manufacturing, procedures, and processes that result in improved efficiencies, yields, machine operations, and quality
  • Identify systematic problems in either process or equipment-related sources and communicate findings to the engineering staff in a continuous manner
  • Provide direct, on-shift support to manufacturing operations to sustain output and resolve issues in real time
  • Participate in data analysis and troubleshooting to resolve equipment and process issues quickly, minimizing production impact

Minimum requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a semiconductor fab as a Process Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • Flexible to adjust work schedule to align and interface with technicians (long term transition from 1st shift to A or C shift)

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing sciences, manufacturing process, and equipment (Photolithography or Thermal experience preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software tools
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, influence others within and across teams, and relate to individuals from various backgrounds, experiences, and skills
  • Ability to take the initiative, drive for results and proactively prevent counterproductive manufacturing events
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve manufacturing problems using a systematic approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Basic Statistical Process Control (SPC) used in semiconductor manufacturing industry for product or tool control
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
