Job Description
May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing with approved competency and documented proof at the time of training. Assists with smooth patient flow by ensuring timely room turnover and preparation, and effectively communicates with staff, physicians, and department management. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade clinical and leadership skills, seeks education opportunities, and coaches staff towards professional growth. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required, maintaining familiarity with new procedures. Supports and assists with data collection for process improvement, understanding department performance trends and established standards. Contributes to process improvement by serving on process improvement teams as assigned and participates in department surveys and patient satisfaction initiatives. Utilizes knowledge of the levels of growth, development, and skills for all patients that enter the department. Maintains department inventory and minimizes waste. Maintains and promotes a positive attitude, self-motivation, and mutual respect toward patients, physicians, and fellow team members. Performs effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in a diagnostic or therapeutic cardiac laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals scope of practice. Contributes to overall quality of diagnostic service and documentation, supporting quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Leads as part of a team, possesses or obtains an advanced skill set, and keeps current with emerging trends. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of advanced levels of EKG training and arrhythmia interpretation [Required]
- Knowledge of coronary diagnostic procedures [Required]
- Ability to function independently with little or no supervision [Required]
- Ability to read and write legibly and perform basic mathematic skills [Required]
- Ability to communicate effectively [Required]
- Proficient in all competency skills for the modality area assigned [Required]
- Knowledge of complex peripheral intervention procedures, peripheral diagnostic procedures and peripheral intervention procedures [Preferred]
Education
- Associate's [Required]
Field of Study
- in healthcare or related field
Work Experience
- 1+ years experience in the modality assigned to lead [Required]
- 2+ years cath lab experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] OR Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required] OR State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) [Required] OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) [Required]

Pay Range
$31.86 - $59.27
