PMC Project Manager

About The Role
The PMC Project Manager will be seconded from Wood to support ADNOC Offshore on a major offshore Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignment. The position will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project in accordance with ADNOC requirements, approved project objectives, contractual obligations, HSE standards, quality requirements, schedule, and budget.
The role requires a highly experienced oil and gas project leader with a strong track record in managing major, complex offshore projects and multidisciplinary project teams from engineering through construction, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and handover
Project Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and direction to the PMC project management team.
- Act as the primary PMC interface with ADNOC Offshore, contractors, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure delivery of project objectives in line with ADNOC requirements, Wood standards, and the approved project execution strategy.
- Establish clear project priorities, accountabilities, governance, and performance expectations.
- Lead project reviews with ADNOC Offshore and senior management.
Project Execution
- Oversee the execution of all project phases, ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, offshore installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor overall project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure effective integration between all project disciplines and contractors.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Maintain a strong and professional working relationship with ADNOC Offshore and other project stakeholders.
- Provide regular project performance updates, including schedule, cost, progress, risks, opportunities, and key issues.
- Lead resolution of major technical, contractual, commercial, schedule, and execution issues.
- Ensure timely escalation of critical matters requiring senior management or client intervention.
HSE & Quality
- Demonstrate visible leadership in Health, Safety, Security and Environmental performance.
- Ensure HSE requirements are embedded throughout project execution.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the PMC and contractor organizations.
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, inspection and testing plans, quality assurance processes, and ADNOC standards.
Schedule, Cost & Risk
- Maintain overall accountability for project schedule and cost performance.
- Review and challenge contractor schedules, forecasts, progress measurement, and recovery plans.
- Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, changes, and potential claims.
- Ensure effective cost control, forecasting, change management, and commercial governance.
Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate a large multidisciplinary PMC team comprising engineering, construction, commissioning, project controls, commercial, procurement, HSE, quality, and other functions.
- Establish an environment of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
- Mentor and develop project personnel and ensure effective succession planning.
- Coordinate interfaces between PMC personnel and ADNOC Offshore representatives.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is mandatory.
- Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience, predominantly within the oil and gas industry.
- Extensive experience in managing major offshore oil and gas projects, preferably within an EPC/EPCM/PMC environment.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex and multidisciplinary offshore projects with significant engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Strong experience working with major oil & gas operators, preferably ADNOC or other major international operators.
- Previous experience in a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager / Project Director capacity on major offshore projects is essential.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple contractors, subcontractors, engineering consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of offshore facilities, brownfield/greenfield projects, offshore platforms, subsea systems, pipelines, marine operations, and associated onshore support facilities.
- Experience managing projects through the complete project lifecycle, including FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, offshore installation, commissioning, start-up, and close-out.
- Strong commercial, contractual, cost-control, planning, risk-management, and change-management experience.
- Proven ability to lead large multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
