Strategic Sourcing DM/Manager (Heavy Fabrication Structures & Casting Forging Machining)

Job Summary

  • The Strategic Sourcing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for heavy
  • fabrication structures, steel fabrication, and related manufacturing services. The role focuses on identifying
  • qualified suppliers, optimizing procurement costs, ensuring quality and timely delivery, and building long-term
  • supplier partnerships to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for heavy fabrication structures, steel components, and fabrication

services.

  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers based on technical capability, quality, cost, and delivery

performance.

  • Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate quotations, and conduct commercial and technical bid analysis.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to understand technical specifications

and sourcing requirements.

  • Perform cost analysis, should-costing, and value engineering to achieve cost optimization.
  • Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits, and performance reviews.
  • Monitor supplier KPIs related to quality, on-time delivery, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternate sources and contingency plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Support localization initiatives and supplier development programs.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, supplier records, and procurement reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in fabrication, structural steel &

machining.

  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, raw materials, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of contract management and commercial negotiations.
