About The Role

Key Responsibilities 1. Test Cell Infrastructure & Integrated Systems • Lead Diesel Genset Test Cells, managing critical utilities including cooling water circuits, fuel delivery systems, and exhaust extraction. • Manage high-capacity Load Banks (Resistive/Inductive) and ensure the infrastructure can handle power ranges from small industrial units up to multi-megawatt gensets. • Oversee the integration of Automated Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ) to monitor real-time engine parameters (Torque, RPM, Thermal profiles, and Fuel Consumption). 2. Component-Level Testing • Perform deep-dive component-level testing on critical genset parts(Radiator , Fan , Silencer , AVM's) • Troubleshoot complex electrical "noise" and signal integrity issues within the test bed environment. . Asset Maintenance & Reliability (OEE) • Develop a robust Preventative and Predictive Maintenance schedule for dynamometers, fuel flow meters, and emission analyzers. • Act as the subject matter expert for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when test bed failures or engine performance deviations occur during end-of-line (EOL) testing. • Drive the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the testing department by reducing changeover times between different genset models. • Develop and maintain Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and detailed Work Instructions (WIs).1 • Lead the selection and commissioning of heavy-lifting equipment, torque-controlled tooling, and automated fluid-fill stations. Operational Excellence • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) to reduce cycle times and eliminate waste in the "Line-Set" process. • Design custom jigs, fixtures, and shop-floor layouts using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo).3 • Oversee the integration of Test Cells into the manufacturing flow, ensuring seamless transition from assembly to hot-run validation. . Calibration Governance • Maintain the master calibration laboratory standards, ensuring all master gauges and reference instruments are traceable to national standards (NIST/NABL). • Standardize Calibration Certificates and documentation for customer-facing compliance reports. • Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of Test bed handling Genset/Engine and engine-to-alternator coupling. • Testing Software: Proficiency in LabVIEW, AVL Puma, or similar engine test automation platforms. • Standards: Familiarity with ISO 8528 (Genset performance) and ISO 3046 (Reciprocating internal combustion engines). • Tools: Expert use of Fluke calibrators, oscilloscopes, and combustion analyzers.
