Job Description

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially minded Contracts Specialist to join our EAME Contracts team based in Prague. In this role, you will review, negotiate, and support a wide variety of sales and procurement contracts, working closely with Sales, Supply Chain and business stakeholders across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys contract review, commercial negotiations, problem-solving, and partnering with the business to find practical solutions. We are looking for an individual who is curious, eager to learn, embraces new technologies including AI tools, and wants to develop expertise in commercial contracting within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, revise, and negotiate commercial sales and procurement contracts.
  • Assess contractual and commercial risks using established company guidelines and approval processes.
  • Support sales teams in structuring customer agreements that align with business objectives while managing risk appropriately.
  • Partner with procurement and supply chain teams on supplier and purchasing agreements.
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders to understand deal requirements and develop practical contract solutions.
  • Participate in customer and supplier negotiations as required.
  • Support contracts ranging from standard agreements to highly complex projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the EAME region to support business growth and successful deal execution.

What Success Looks Like

  • Effectively reviewing and assessing commercial risks within sales and procurement contracts.
  • Building strong partnerships with Sales and Procurement
  • Finding commercially practical solutions rather than simply enforcing contractual rules.
  • Managing multiple contracts and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to learn, grow, and take on increasingly complex negotiations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably on the sales side, procurement side, or both.
  • Background in contract management, contract administration, procurement, supply chain, commercial operations, paralegal work, or a related field.
  • Strong English language skills are required.
  • Fluency in one or more additional European languages such as German, French, Italian, or Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with sales agreements, purchasing agreements, service agreements, EPC contracts, OEM supplier contracts, or similar commercial contracts.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with stakeholders and supporting negotiations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Copilot, AI tools, or willing to learn how to use AI to support contract review and decision-making.
  • Law degree is not required.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is

  • Passionate about contracts and commercial negotiations.
  • A quick learner with a strong work ethic.
  • Curious and open to continuous learning.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative office environment.
  • Flexible and responsive when business priorities require support outside of standard routines.
  • Interested in building a long-term career in commercial contracting.

What We Offer

  • Exposure to high-value contracts supporting projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • Structured onboarding, coaching, and mentorship from experienced contract professionals.
  • Initial 3-year contract with the possibility of extension and conversion to an indefinite position.
  • Corporate bonus paid once a year
  • 5 weeks holiday
  • Meal allowance
  • Cafeteria system 15000 points per year
  • Multisport card
  • Coffee or tea for free
  • Pension or life insurance up to 24 000 CZ/per year
  • This position requires a 5-days in the office schedule.
  • Any offer of employment may be conditioned upon the successful completion of a background screening.

Base Minimum Pay

  • Kč1,162,644.00
  • Please note that salary is only one component of the total compensation and benefit package available at Caterpillar.
