About The Role

Job Title: Medical Scribe and Healthcare Billing Specialist

Position Type: Part-Time

  • Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Central Daylight Time, Monday - Friday
  • Salary rate: $6-$7

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time medical scribing and note-taking during patient appointments.
  • Review, organize, and summarize clinical notes.
  • Enter, update, audit, and maintain accurate patient records using Residex EMR/EHR.
  • Coordinate patient referrals and follow up with providers and healthcare facilities.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls professionally.
  • Assist with staff training coordination and documentation.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
  • Process and follow up on prior authorization requests.
  • Submit claims and follow up on pending, denied, or unpaid claims.
  • Perform billing reconciliation and account audits.
  • Identify missed charges, unbilled services, and unbilled dates.
  • Support billing catch-up projects and financial reconciliation.
  • Assist with Minnesota Medicaid billing and documentation.
  • Maintain organized records, trackers, and administrative workflows.
  • Coordinate with clinical, nursing, billing, and administrative teams.
  • Potentially assist with phone triage and overnight or 24-hour call coverage in the future.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in medical scribing, healthcare administration, medical billing, or a similar role.
  • Strong healthcare administrative or clinical background.
  • Experience with medical scribing and clinical documentation.
  • Experience using Resides EMR/EHR is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, claims processing, and billing workflows.
  • Experience supporting a U.S.-based healthcare organization.
  • Nursing or clinical experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • Registered Nurses from the Philippines are encouraged to apply, although an RN license is not required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.
  • Professional, energetic, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Adaptable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong team player interested in building a long-term working relationship.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Must speak and write English clearly and professionally.
  • Must have relevant work experience.
  • Must be able to provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding (mandatory).
  • Must be available to attend video meetings with camera on when required.

Technical Requirements

  • Computer: Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
  • Internet: Stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps).
  • Audio: Noise-canceling headset.
  • Video: Working webcam for virtual meetings.
  • Workspace: Quiet and professional work environment.
